Everybody retires. Even the Agent for All Evil on Earth has to hang up the old pitchfork sometime -- ditto for his colleague, the Representative for All That is Good. That said, making way for a new generation is "slightly" more complicated when you are hundreds of years old, as is hilariously clear in "Blackpool and Parrish". Blackpool (evil) and Parrish (good) meet in a private club every twenty-five years and now, with Armageddon scheduled for teatime tomorrow, they must pass on their duties to their less-than-ideal successors: a mild-mannered teacher (the evil heir) and an aggressively Bohemian artist (the good heir). Caught in the middle is the anxious club manager who, as the sole representative of humanity, may be the key to saving the world. Zip Rampy directs this stage comedy of apocalyptic proportions for Out of Box Theatre. [less-]
